Publishers’ LETTER

Posted
Dear Readers, Welcome to the 7th Anniversary Issue of River Towns Magazine and our special salute to the semiquincentennial in the River Towns Our region played a vital role in the American Revolution, making it only fitting to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary through a distinctly River Towns lens.
We are so fortunate to be surrounded by history, from iconic places like Washington Crossing, to the houses, taverns, farms, stone walls, mills, hills, and sacred spaces woven into everyday life. Within these pages, you’ll meet the people preserving it, reimagining it, interpreting it, painting it, protecting it, performing it, and bringing it vividly to life.
You’ll also discover historic gems, little-known stories, and countless ways to celebrate the 250th—River Towns style.
This issue is also a salute to the brave men and women who sacrificed everything so that America could be free from tyranny. We also raise our glasses to the generations of ordinary people, many of them volunteers, who worked tirelessly to safeguard the historic places, treasures, land, and waterways so that one day we could enjoy and learn from them.
On behalf of our dedicated team of editors, writers, photographers, designers, and history enthusiasts, and the many community members who helped us put this issue together, we hope our stories fill you with pride, curiosity, gratitude, and wonder for the extraordinary place we are fortunate to call home.
And at 160 pages, we’ve done so with our largest issue ever.
